Violin Adventures 3 Class for Kids Ages 5-12
This class is for students ages 5-12 who are currently enrolled in weekly private violin lessons.
Students who are at Two Grenadiers or higher in Suzuki Book 2, or in Suzuki Book 3 are the best fit for this class – they should be able to play two-octave G Major, A Major, and B-flat Major scales and manage finger patterns using low 2’s, high 3’s, low 1’s, and low 4’s.
This class will learn technical exercises including preparation for shifting and vibrato, develop ear-training through the study of scales and chord progressions, and play rhythm and musicianship games in an inspiring and motivational group setting. Review pieces from the Suzuki method will be studied in order to polish musical, technical, and ensemble skills. Learning harmonies to Suzuki pieces as well as ensemble music in two, three, and four parts will help young violinists learn through teamwork and listening! Students will have “solo time” each class, which gives them the opportunity to practice performing in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Students and parents also enjoy peer support and forming friendships within the violin community at the Academy.
