Masha Feygelson received her B.M. in Piano Performance from George Mason University, and is currently completing her Master of Music in Piano Performance at GMU, where she studies with Dr. Anna Balakerskaia. Masha began her musical studies in her native Russia, and subsequently attended Levine School of Music in Washington D.C., and Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, studying with a number of distinguished pianists such as Anna Ouspenskaya, Michael Coonrod, and Ya-Ting Chang.
Masha has extensive experience working with children, both as an instructor in a classroom setting and as a private music teacher. Since joining the Potomac Arts teaching faculty in 2013, Masha has built a flourishing studio of young musicians, whose levels range from beginner to advanced.
As a participant in music festivals and concerts in the United States and abroad, Masha performs as a soloist and chamber musician. Masha is a winner of national competitions and awards, including the Duquesne National Young Artist Competition in Pittsburgh, the American Fine Arts Festival in New York City, and the solo competition at the Orfeo International Music Festival in Vipiteno, Italy. She has been featured as a soloist and chamber musician in the ARTS by George series at GMU and the GMU School of Music Honors Recital. In addition to her teaching and performing, she works as an accompanist, church pianist, and jazz vocalist in the D.C. metropolitan area.
