Art Explorations for Teens

Teenagers will have a fun but challenging opportunity to explore the history of art, develop technical ability through various exercises, and explore what art has to offer them in different mediums. Students interested in applying to college art programs can take advantage of specific Portfolio Prep activities. On the last class day, students will present a special art showcase for family and friends. Different themes and concepts are explored each semester, allowing for students to participate multiple times. (All art supplies will be provided during class.)

Dates:  Saturdays,  Sept 23 – Dec 2, 2017   10 classes  (no class Nov 25th)
Ages:  12 – 18
Time:  11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
Tuition:  $285 + $40 supply fee

Kelli started her art education journey by taking a drawing class at NOVA and I never looked back. After graduating from Northern Virginia Community College with her Associate degree in Fine Arts, she went off to Mary Baldwin College where she majored in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Drawing and minored in Education. After receiving her BA from MBC, Kelli continued to George Mason University where she received her MAT in Art Education. Kelli is currently working at Lake Braddock Secondary teaching High School Studio Art as well as AP Drawing and AP 2D-Design. She enjoys teaching her students the skills and techniques they will use in their future art endeavors.
