Voice Class For Kids:
Musical Theater Foundations, Ages 9-12
This class is designed specifically for boys and girls ages 9 to 12 years old, who are in the transitional (and sometimes awkward) stage of vocal development. Focus will be on proper breathing, vocal control, improved music reading, and singing in parts. Students will also learn about music through song, rhythm, and movement. Performance tips will also be introduced including presentation, expression, and body composure. The class will culminate with a final performance of songs from Musical Theater repertoire, as well as traditional choral pieces.

Days: Tuesdays, Feb 21 – May 2 2017, 10 classes (no class on Apr 11th)
Time: 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Tuition: $285 + $10 music fee

Jacqueline Salvador is an actor and teacher in the Northern Virginia and DC Area. She is currently working in a production with Pandemonium Theatre Productions, and just recently finished a beautiful production of West Side Story with The Little Theatre of Alexandria as “Consuelo.” Her favorite theatre roles include “Carla” in The Little Theatre of Alexandria’s production of In The Heights, being a Museum Artist with Discovery Theatre in Seasons of Light, and her opera roles, “Zita” in Gianni Schicchi and “Mrs. Jones” in Street Scene, with the School of Music at George Mason University. She has also participated in the DC Fringe Festival and performed in her own cabaret. Jacqueline is also a proud member of the Acting for Young People family as a Musical Director and part of the Musical Theater & Voice team for their Summer Acting Camp. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree with a Concentration in Vocal Performance at George Mason University, where she studied classical technique along with acting skills in the School of Theatre.
