Violin Adventures Group Level 2 for Ages 6-12

This class is for students ages 6 – 12 who are currently enrolled in weekly private violin lessons. Students who are at the end of Suzuki Book 1 or in Suzuki Book 2 will be the best fit for this class – they should be able to play a two-octave G Major scale and manage finger patterns using low 2’s and high 3’s. Students will learn finger and bow exercises to improve their technique, strengthen their music theory skills, and play rhythm and ear-training games in a fun group setting. They will play review pieces from the Suzuki method as well as other pieces in two-and-three-part harmony. Special emphasis will be placed on blending sounds, matching bow strokes, and breathing together to create a cohesive ensemble. Students will have “solo time” each class, which gives them the opportunity to practice performing in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Students and parents also enjoy peer support and forming friendships within the violin community at Potomac Arts Academy.
