Jr. Instructor - Oboe
Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Samantha Charriez will be graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education at George Mason University in the Spring of 2017. She is the principal oboist of the George Mason University Symphony Orchestra, Mason’s Wind Symphony, and previously the Symphonic Band. Sammy has studied oboe and English horn with Dr. Lorrie Berkshire-Brown and Laurel Siberts, and has participated in a master class with Joseph Robinson. She is a member of the woodwind faculty as an oboe/English horn instructor at both George Mason’s Potomac Arts Academy and the Judith Lapple Summer Woodwind Camp. Additionally, Sammy has experience playing mellophone, trumpet, euphonium, saxophone, and singing in various ensembles. She speaks, writes, and reads fluently in Spanish.
