SUMMER VIOLIN VOYAGES
For Young Violinists Ages 5-8

Violin Summer Camp for Kids

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

WE'RE SORRY, THIS PROGRAM IS CLOSED AS OF 07/01/14

You and your violin are invited to go on an imaginative summer voyage! You will learn to balance the violin on your shoulder with ease, create a flexible bowhold, shape the left hand, and move up and down the fingerboard with freedom. Singing and clapping rhythms will be an essential part of your journey as you develop essential musical skills. Students will also be treated to creative listening exercises each day as they experience great works of music and interact with them through art, movement, and imagination.

Violin Voyages is open to students between the ages of 5 and 8 who have studied violin for at least six months in either group classes or private lessons. Students are expected to bring their own violin and bow, and they should be able to hold the violin and the bow comfortably and play an A Major scale. A combination of traditional, Rolland, and Suzuki methods will be used.
