• Gain musical "independence" performing sans conductor

MUSIC FUNDAMENTALS CLASS
Music Fundamentals is designed as an introductory course in sight-singing and music theory. The course will guide the students on the concepts of sol-fege and movable "do" as applied to music sight-reading. Students will engage in ear-training exercises to develop their interval recognition and assist in the sight-reading process. Additionally, the course will discuss music theory and analysis, in terms of roman numeral analysis and functional harmony. This course is designed to give the more advanced student an opportunity to understand how music functions and build efficient learning practices. Students ages 10 - 14 of any instrumental/vocal background are welcome, but all students are required to have the ability to read music at an intermediate/advanced level prior to enrolling.
