Orff Central at Mason

Welcome to "Orff Central at Mason"!

During the past 30 years, George Mason University has created one of the most successful Orff Schulwerk training programs in the nation. Our comprehensive curriculum, expert faculty, and enjoyable atmosphere have drawn enthusiastic music educators from across the country and around the world.

Every year in July, Mason's Potomac Arts Academy hosts the Orff Schulwerk Certification Program, where education-forward music instructors gather to earn Orff Certification (awarded upon completion of Level III), participate in special "Orff Supplementals" courses, fill their educator toolbox with new ideas and helpful resources, and present a Final Showcase featuring theory-in-action sharing of group projects.

Over the years, program participants and faculty have developed a strong sense of family and common purpose. From this connection, program coordinators Donna Fleetwood and Joyce Stephansky, along with the team at Potomac, have designed "Orff Central at Mason" - your premier online resource to stay connected and informed throughout the year.
