Potomac Arts Academy is excited to offer Chamber Music Ensembles (trios and quartets) - open to Potomac students AND outside students! Highlights of performing in a chamber music group include:
• Weekly chamber ensemble rehearsals/coachings with Potomac Faculty
• Two performances on the GMU campus
• Learn amazing chamber repertoire and forge unforgettable friendships
• Enhance intonation, rhythm, and expressive skills through close work with peers
Rehearsals will be held on either Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays (depending on ensemble placement) from 7:00-8:00pm or 8:00-9:00pm. For the best chance of optimal ensemble placement, it is recommended to have all three times available at the start of the semester
We are looking for Intermediate (approximately Suzuki Bk. 3+) to Advanced students of all ages, however we do request a recommendation from a private or public school teacher for students younger than 10 years old.

|GUITAR ENSEMBLE FOR TEENS Ages: 13 yrs to 18
The Guitar Ensemble is designed for intermediate to advanced teen guitar students. Special emphasis will be placed on the following: good practice habits, preparing for performance/audition, fingerstyle/classical technique, and playing as an ensemble. Students will be required to provide their own guitar, either a nylon-string classical guitar or a steel-string acoustic guitar. Different ability levels are expected and instruction will be tailored to the players' abilities. The ensemble will perform in a recital at the end of the semester.

|HONORS PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE Ages: Grades 6 to 8
The Honors Percussion Ensemble is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students enrolled in the band program at their school. The ensemble will prepare a varied concert program of concert percussion repertoire. Students will improve their skills and rehearsal habits, and increase their awareness of and appreciation for percussion ensemble literature. In addition, students may be introduced to percussion instruments that are not typically used in a band program. Students should demonstrate an intermediate knowledge of concert percussion, including snare, mallet percussion and timpani. A letter of recommendation from the student's band director or private instructor is required to be handed in on the first day. A short audition meeting on the first day will help determine part assignments. Participants will present a recital performance at the end of the semester.
